Shipping Notice — Obon Holiday (13–18 August, JST)

We pause shipping during the Obon holiday period in Japan. Orders placed between 13 and 18 August (Japan time) will be dispatched together on 21 August, regardless of destination country. Orders placed outside this period follow our usual schedule.

About formats: every record is 12-inch. Alongside full albums, a selection may include 12-inch singles and maxi-singles — for the Techno flavor in particular, much of this music was originally released that way.

Each box is curated as a discovery experience. While specific artists or titles are not selected by request, we choose every record with balance, condition, and enjoyable listening in mind.

Choose Your Flavor

Your flavor choice guides the direction of the box. Final selections are based on balance, condition, and availability.

  • Original: a balanced mix across genres
  • Rock: rock’n’roll, rockabilly, punk, grunge, metal, and related sounds
  • Pop: City Pop, AOR, idol, and melodic Japanese pop
  • Techno: house, electro, dance, avant-garde, synth-led pop, and related electronic sounds; may include remixes
  • Folk: folk-rooted or folk-flavored music; electric works may be included if they fit the feel
Record Condition & Playability
  • All records are secondhand. They are not new or sealed items.
  • Every record is visually checked and cleaned before shipping.
  • Every record receives a playback noise check: we listen to three short sections on each side to check for strong continuous noise.
  • If visible scratches or marks are found, we additionally check the affected sections for extreme noise.
  • We generally ship records around VG+ by our internal standard, but minor surface noise, light marks, or age-related wear may be present.
  • We do not include records that we believe would prevent enjoyable listening.
Repeat Orders & Bonus
  • From your 2nd order onward, we check your previous KAISHU orders and avoid sending the same titles again.
  • We log every record shipped to each email address, so please use the same email address when ordering again.
  • Every 3rd OBENTO-series purchase includes an extra EP or single.
  • OBENTO BOX, OBENTO PACK, and SIMPLE OBENTO PACK all count toward this bonus.
  • If the bonus applies to your order, we will include it automatically.
Shipping & Delivery
  • Orders usually dispatch within 3 business days after confirmation, excluding weekends and holidays.
  • For orders to the United States, dispatch may take longer than 3 business days due to limited postal acceptance following recent U.S. customs rule changes. U.S. orders are typically shipped in weekly batches.
  • Typical transit from Japan is about 2 weeks, but timing varies by country, season, customs, and postal conditions.
  • During busy periods or customs delays, delivery may take over 1 month.
  • If your order includes 2 or more boxes, each box may ship separately with its own tracking number.
  • Each OBENTO BOX is packed in its own box, then placed in an outer shipping box for safer international delivery.
Important Notes for Techno Option
  • Please use a turntable with adjustable tracking force and anti-skating.
  • Due to past DJ use, some Techno records may show visible wear, marks, or cueing-related signs.
  • We check every Techno record using the same process above and include only copies we consider suitable for enjoyable listening.
  • Depending on availability, some Techno selections may be from the 2000s.
  • Certain players may be more prone to skipping; proper setup helps minimize playback issues.
